Do your armpits sweat even when you aren’t hot?  For many, axillary hyperhidrosis (excessive armpit sweating) is a big problem.  It affects activities that you choose to do, clothes that you choose to wear, and is an embarrassing issue that people often try to keep a secret. If you haven’t seen a dermatologist for it (or seen a dermatologist recently), you should definitely start with a medical consultation to discuss the options!

In addition to conventional medical therapies, Advanced Dermatology is proud to offer MiraDry for our patients.  MiraDry uses radiofrequency waves to ablate or destroy the sweat glands in the armpits.  It consists of 2 treatments spaced 3 months apart from each other and is a permanent solution.  A lot of people also noticed decreased hair in their armpits after the treatments.  If you have tried other things and are still dealing with this problem, schedule a free consultation with our trained staff to discuss MiraDry.

Tired of worrying about underarm sweat and odor?
Then miraDry is the answer for you!

Here are some testimonials from patients we have treated :

“I have had one miraDry treatment and after 10 weeks I would estimate that my sweating has decreased 70-80%. It is such an improvement , I do not know if I will do the second treatment, as I am so happy with the improvement so far. I would recommend miraDry to any friend, especially men where odor is a problem!!”

-Dr. Johnson, MD

“I had a great experience with the miraDry treatment. During the procedure I had minimal pain. It was tolerable though. Afterwards, the swelling in my armpits was more than what I anticipated. But I followed the instructions that were sent home with me, I applied the ice , and that was a huge help. It took a good week before I noticed a difference for the full effect of miraDry. I was using deodorant less and less frequently. I am happy with the results from the treatment. Thank you.’

” Currently my miraDry experience is at a level 10. I underwent the treatment six weeks ago at a level five setting, as to date I am sweat free and 100% satisfied. I would recommend this treatment to any one of my closest friends, colleagues, as well as any person dealing with a hyperhidrosis issue.”

“At first I was a little reluctant to have the miraDry treatment because of my fear of needles, but I was sick and tired of deodorant not working for me. No matter what deodorant I used or how often I washed, my underarms always smelled like BO. I was in quite the pickle. I could face my fear or smell like BO for the rest of my life. So I faced my fear and I was surprised to find out the pain from the injections wasn’t bad at all. On a pain scale of 1-10 I gave it a 2. The worst of my swelling and soreness was the day after the treatment. Ice packs and Advil really helped keep me comfortable during this time. If you ask me it’s a small price to pay for a lifetime of being BO free.”

What is Axillary Hyperhidrosis?

Millions of people suffer from excessive underarm sweat, otherwise known as axillay hyperhidrosis. It is a medical condition itself and not a side effect of other medical conditions. People who suffer from axillary hyperhidrosis have overactive sweat glands resulting in producing more sweat than needed to regulate body temperature, specifically in the underarms. This condition usually shows up in individuals who are otherwise healthy. It can being during the age of puberty, but symptoms can appear up into your 20’s and last a lifetime. Most people with this conditions have a family history of hyperhidrosis. In hyperhidrosis, sweating may be continuous or start suddenly. Emotional stress, high room/environmental temperature, and digestion of certain foods can aggravate hyperhidrosis.
